A hospital room. A shelter hallway. A day that could use a little color. We bring balloons, handwritten cards, and thoughtfully chosen gifts into those spaces, so children and women walking through hard seasons feel seen and remembered.
A cheerful balloon and a card written just to encourage someone can make an unfamiliar room feel a little warmer. Our hospital deliveries have included balloons and small gifts, including the Teddy-inspired balloon weights that were part of our very first delivery.
Our focus is children in hospitals and children’s wards. We have also brought encouragement to people receiving cancer treatment. These are gifts of kindness, not medical care or a promise of recovery. What can be brought inside depends on the facility’s own rules.
Nominate a hospitalHealing begins when you feel seen, loved, and appreciated for who you are. Our shelter deliveries have included flowers arranged in individual vases, Valentine’s balloons, handwritten cards, and wrapped holiday gifts. We want each gift to feel personal and chosen with a unique purpose.
The women and children who receive these gifts deserve dignity and privacy. We can share the preparation, the beautiful things you helped make possible, and the story of a delivery without sharing someone’s private circumstances or a confidential shelter location.
Nominate a shelterA Passion Project invites our community to help fund one specific delivery. Each listing explains who the gifts are for, what goes into a bundle, how many people we plan to reach, and the funding goal. Stretch goals add something extra to the recipients’ bundles, not a reward for donors.
You can follow the funding meter, then check back later in our updates section. Every project gets it's own update, with the memories we captured during delivery. Each project also explains its costs, what happens if the goal is not reached, and how leftover funds are handled. Those details stay alongside the project so you can read them before deciding to give.
Explore Passion ProjectsAn organization or someone who cares about it can send a nomination. We ask about the institution, its city, the people it serves, and any known delivery restrictions. Please leave out private medical details and information about individual children.
We review service-area fit, delivery feasibility, and safety. The right gift depends on what the organization can accept and what would be useful or uplifting there. A nomination is a request, not a booking or a guarantee of a visit.
This is where cards get written, balloons get prepared, and gifts get packed. Supporters can contribute money, time, or practical skills. We welcome volunteer interest and follow up when there is a fit for the work ahead.
Our Updates are a record of deliveries, preparation, and milestones. For Passion Projects, the listing explains the funding and the closing account. We celebrate what happened while keeping recipients’ dignity and safety at the center.
Operation Floating Sunshine is based in Reading, Pennsylvania. Our regular nomination area is Reading, Lancaster, and communities within 50 miles of Reading. We are a small organization and cannot take on every request. Occasionally, we arrange a delivery while traveling, like the Myrtle Beach cancer-center visit described in our Updates. Those special deliveries do not expand the area served by the nomination form.

Thanks to the generous heart of our very first donor, who is bravely battling stage 4 cancer herself, we carried 40 balloons of hope to a cancer center in Myrtle Beach, SC. 💛

We hand picked zinnias, sunflowers, hydrangeas and dahlias, then turned them into unique bouquets for every woman at LightHouse. Each one a reminder that they are seen, valued, and loved by God. 💛
