Sunshine for LightHouse Women & Children’s Center

Sometimes sunshine arrives by the bucketful. 💛

It started on Friday, when Ashton drove out to a local florist and found the whole stand set up under a shade tree: five-gallon buckets packed with zinnias in every color they come in, sunflowers turning their faces up, hydrangeas, dahlias, snapdragons, daisies, feathery celosia, and armful after armful of greenery. She went out for a carful. She came home with a car that could not have fit one more stem.

Then came the best kind of afternoon. Every bunch got taken apart and rebuilt into its own special arrangement, one for each woman at LightHouse, and no two of them turned out the same. Every single one got its own glass vase and a blush ribbon tied at the neck.

Saturday morning, first thing, we drove them over so the flowers would be waiting before the weekend even started. We lined the vases up along the lobby wall, and for a few minutes that hallway looked like a flower shop had quietly moved in overnight. The staff at LightHouse are the kind of people who make a hard day softer, and their positive spirits made a world of difference.

To the women at LightHouse: God loves you, He sees you, and He has good plans in store for your life. We hope that every time you walked past those flowers this weekend, it felt like a small piece of proof.

Sunshine comes in a lot of different forms. This weekend, it came in a vase. 💛
